University h1B to private company H1b

Hello,

Has anybody gone through a similar situation? University H1B is not under quota but if one wants to go to a private company-they can only file in April 2007 with an earliest start date of Oct 2007. A private company will typically not wait for april to oct for starting. I really dont know what to do??

Anyone knows...?? Please help!!
 
right university is not under CAP.

Oct 2007 is the earliest start date for you to get paid . You work as a volunteer in the company that is going to sponsor your visa ..so till oct you work free and get the experience and from Oct you get paid .

Better to have a job in hand without pay ..than betting on some company which would say they will get you a job after Oct.. believe me ..i had the same case

Hi,

I am new to this arena. How the company will allow a person to work without any legal documents (I mean H-1B). Just like that how can we go and work even if the company is interested in hiring you (after may be 3-4 months). shed light on this stuff.

May be it worked in your case but it is not legal if alien/foreigner works without documents as a volunteer. Even volunteer job needs to be registered.

If USCIS/INS decide to check your company it would be fined the same like if t hired you without documents and paid you salary.
