Unique Situation

Hi there,

My name is Monty, and I'm in a very unique situation, so I'm hoping I can find some more precise information from here somehow. I've tried looking through dozens of Immigraiton sites, as well as trying to contact immigration services by phone, but I've been turning up all dead ends so far. The USCIS site I find is very tricky to navigate, and I don't really know what I'm looking for. As for the toll free number, it doesn't work in my call area. The closest US Consulate to me (Calgary) also does not handle US Immigration Applications by phone anymore, they only deal in currently existing applications.

I currently reside in Saskatchewan, and am also unemployed. I'm looking to move to the USA as soon as humanly possible to go live with my new girlfriend in Kansas. Last month I went to the US with her, as a visitor, however I was denied access, because I was unemployed and didn't have a place to live at the time (I'm currently going through a divorce)

So I'm still in Saskatchewan, and basically trying to find something that will help me be able to move down to the States again, legally, and without causing trouble with Customs & Immigration at the border. Anything will do really, whether it be standard Immigration, student or otherwise.

I would really appreciate any help I can get whether it be a contact number, or an e-mail or even a PM from someone who knows what I can do or who I can talk to, to get the information I need to be able to cross into the US without being denied access again, from my current standing.

There should be a forum with examples of what not to do when dealing with US immigration authorities. And this post belongs into the FAQ for that new forum.

- get a job
- get a place to live
- DO NOT EVER EVER MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND IN THE US TO ANY US CONSULAR OR IMMIGRATION OFFICER
- apply for a visitors visa (which in all likelihood will be denied as they have you now marked down as a 'likely immigrant' in their system).

- if they don't let you in as a non-immigrant: have your GF apply for a fiancee visa for you. Enter the US on the fiancee visa, have her file for a GC for you.

(and then of course there is the option of taking a snowmobile accross one of the 4000odd miles of unguarded US-canadian border. You run a slight risk of incarceration and a considerable risk of death, but it is another option)
