Hi Folks,
485 filed on sep 5, 2002.
FP - Aug 31st, 2004.
Ever since I applied my I485 in sep 5, 2002, the online system used to show that mine and my wife's cases are approved. My company's lawfirm tried to get it fixed even going thru the senators but USCIS pushed it away saying that it was just a glitch in online system.
Once, my wife's EAD even got rejected as USCIS thought our 485s were approved.
When everybody who applied from my company at the same time were getting the finger print notices, I did't get one. My lawfirm had to physically ask for the notices. Thats when I realized that something is still wrong.
After we gave fingerprints, the online status changed at last saying that they received the fingerprints. After when the processing date crossed the application date by almost 3 months, we still did't hear back from USCIS.
Thats when my lawfirm went thru senators office again and to our bad luck, they found out that our medical records were done improperly. So we had to redo the medicals and send them back on Feb 24, 2005.
Then I started to followup with my local congressman also at the same time. I have got a response on Mar 7th stating that our fingerprints were approved and my wife's name check was done but my name check with FBI is still pending. I just got a fresh update from an other senators office (May 20, 2005) that my name checks are still pending.
I have contacted FBI and found that my FP were cleared Aug 31st 2004 itself. Since name checks are requested right after FPs, its been 8 to 9 months now and I don't know why name checks are not yet cleared.
I don't even know if I can trust USCIS when they are informing congressman and senators that my name check is pending. May be its a way to hold off these enquiries for a while.
I called Rajeev's office and one of the lawyers informed me that the name checks do not take more than 30 mins with FBI.
I am following Rahul's pdf documents to get answers from FBI. (Thanks to Rahul).
Misery attracts company! Now I am attached to these forums to read my fellow friends go through the same issues.
If anybody has any suggestions, please respond to my posting. I would appreciate it.
Thanks
