Unemploymnet Insurance immediately after GC

Hi

I lost my job recently. I have my 485 approved 3 months ago. I have recd. my plastic card too.

My question, is it safe to apply for unemployment insurance in such a situation? Does it create any problem which will result in revoking my card because I applied for unemployment insurance.

Your comments/experiences welcome. It will be of great help.

Unemployment Insurance in the EAD stage.

Hi,

I am in a more serious predicament. This is my situation.
* Have received EAD.
* Have applied I-485 (AOS) in November 2001.
* Finished my 'fingerprinting' on Sept 02, 2002.
* Still waiting for the AOS to be adjudicated.

I got laid off just two weeks back.

I just went ahead and applied for unemployment insurance without thinking too much. I am not sure if this is going to jeopardise my AOS now. I dont think it will but I'd rather have someone else who has been in my position tell me about it. Has someone been in my situation where they are in the final stages, waiting for AOS and got laid off? What are my options.

The california UI office sent me a letter stating that they have sent my social to the INS to check if I am eligible for UI.

Any help/suggestions and comments would be great!

thanks for reminding me.. actually I was wondering today what the hell happened with it. Nopes theres no information on it till now.

Will call them up on monday and find out. Will keep you posted.
