Unemployment for H1B?

I'm currently in the US with a H1B visa and paid unemployment. However, does that ensure that I can claim unemployment when I get laid off?
I got married 2 months ago and am in the process of getting that paperwork done (EAD etc). If I get laid off, I should get unemployment, right? I paid for 5 years into the system.....

Any ideas?

If you are on H1 , you cannot get unemployment fund.You didnt mention whether youg ot EAD or not. After you get green card you are eligble to get unemployment fund
