unemployment compensation

Hello!

I have an H1 visa and my contract with my employer will be ending this month. With about a hundred of job application sent, until now I get no job offer. Am I eligible to apply for unemployment compensation?

NEVER apply. technically you are eligible but it will be illegal for you to be in h1 without employer active sponsorship or paystub.

remember that local irs are nowadays linked with immigration. few months back a person applied for unemp comp within few months of getting his GC but uscis was notified about this claim which triggered deportation
