Unemployment compensation _lay off with H1B

I got laid off with H1b recently. I want to know if I am eligible to apply for unemployment compensation.

No you are not eligible for unemployment compensation because you don't have unrestricted work authorization in the US. (H1b doesn't count.)

You should have received a return ticket to your home country. You are now out of status and need to return home unless you have obtained a new position.
