That being a public charge doesn\'t have anything to do with the application for naturalization. It could have something to do with gaining admission to the US after being absent for a long period of time. Permanent residents are not considered to be trying to gain admission when they have been out for a short trip. Basically this means that the whole public charge and naturalization as being a problem is a myth. There is nothing in the naturalization application that asks for information about public assistance, this is because INS doesn\'t care about this, and INS doesn\'t care because the law doesn\'t allow INS to care about this (this is what I believe, please search for the facts yourself in the law).
