the only requirement for getting Unemployment benefit is to have unrestricted work authorization. Asylees can get UI benefits.

as long as your employer paid for your unemployment benefits and does not contest when you file an application

Unemployent benefits are not considered welfare. Even if they were welfare, asylees do not have the type of welfare restrictions that are imposed on most other people.
