unemployment benefits for EAD holder dependent

after inquiring about this possibility, all departments (INS, UI State, and others) have given green light and said this is allowed. After going through research, no concerning departments have said anything. Any of you have heard anything??

For most of 485 applicants, it is a matter of safe approach vs. aggressive approach. The laws are not always so clear and INS may interpret it differently than you expect.

It depends whether one wants to take a risk of getting into (possible) immigration trouble (GC/Citizenship) and fight for the right to get that money or one is ready to forget the money and not get into trouble, if any, which might arise later on.

talked to 6 lawyers including two employment

lawyers. Two opposed and 4 were for it. Talked to local INS
officer, didn't find anything written about it. Wrote to department
of economic security and asked them to talk to INS and use their
system to make sure if this candidate is eligible legally....
They said 'no problem'. so am about to jump to apply for the spouse. I will post if I hear.
