Unemployment benefits during H-1B job transfer

Hi, I'm seeking clarification on eligibility for Massachusetts unemployment benefits eligibility. I will be leaving my current job at the end of March and starting my next job at the end of April. My new employer is already filing for my H-1B and if all goes well it should be ready when I quit. So, for the 4 weeks between my current job and the next, would I be eligible to apply for unemployment benefits (provided that my current employer fires me before my 2-week notice ends)? Also, would it affect my Green Card application in the future?

Thanks

You dont qualify for unemployment benefits when you 'Quit' Also it is bettter to avoid going on unemployment while on H-1B

Just to clarify: H1B do not qualify for unemployment benefits whether they are laid off or they quit. Most likely your application will be rejected if you still apply and if by mistake you are given the benefits, you will be charged with fraud.
