unemployment benefit

Hi,
Could some one help me with this question. My wife is sponsoring my I-130, she is unemployed now and have been receiving unemployment benefits. I am on H1B and holding a job and making money (we donot have any money issues, but still she want to claim unemployment benefits). In I864 I said our family income for the year is $***000 and she is unemployed. I am just wondering if it makes any difference on my application status if my sponsor is receiving unemployment benefits.
Thanks for all your time and help,
Krishna

Based only on my interpretation (and not on any similar experience)...

It should not matter as long as the income from your own sources is above the poverty guidelines. Page 7 of I 864 instructions is clear on inclusion of income from intending immigrant.

I think you should also include income from unemployment benefits after all it will also probably go to your wife's tax return.

It shouldn't. You can be your own co-sponsor in this situation. However you better include unemployment benefit too in the form.

Just to make you more relaxed about it... :) I know at least 2 people from different forum who were in your situation (applicant makes money, USC spouse doesn't not). Just had interviews this month and both cases were approved right there.
