Unemployment benefit - US Citizenship

Hi,

I have a GC and will be eligible to apply for US citizenhip next year. I got laid off from my job and was thinking of applying for unemployment benefit but did not know whether that will affect my citizensip application.

I would appreciate some feedback since I could not find much information.

unemployment benefits are NOT "public assistance". It's insurance your employer was paying for.
