Unable to check status of I-130 petition

We recently submitted the I-130 petition for my mother who is based in Bangalore. We received a confirmation of receipt dated June 19th 2008 with a tracking number (WAC number).

However, when we enter the WAC number online (USCIS site) to check the status, we get an error message that

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283
---------------------------------------------------------------

We called the National Customer Service Center and they told us there was some issue with checking the status online, and to contact them if we dont hear back from then about the petition by December.

Has any one who submitted their I-130 petition faced the same issue?

I have the same problem checking and now there are website changes. I cannot find the location of where to check it.
