U2U Ukraine and political asylum

Hello , please tell me, if I am a ukrainian "parolee" under the u4u program and, while in the United States, apply for political asylum, do I lose the right to participate in the u4u program (including the right to further extend the EAD under the u4yu program) or not?

Only because there is war in Ukraine is not enough reason to apply for asylum! Wars are not valid reason to apply for asylum

you misunderstood me, maybe I asked the question incorrectly, if I apply for political asylum, is the U2U status lost?

Solid answer if you ask me

I'd recommend to think twice, because situation in Ukraine won't be sufficient for a case and you may ended up in removal procedure.

Don’t be biased guys, he might have different reasons to apply for asylum, besides war. I am not 100% sure but I think you will lose u4u status, because once you apply for asylum you cannot leave the country, and u4u lets you travel internationally. So the two can’t exist together.

I have a long time friend that is a Ukrainian Citizen who left just before the war started. She has dual citizenship in Ukraine and Bulgaria. Will that be an issue if I try to Sponsor her Under the United for Ukraine program?

Please start a new thread. To be eligible for U4U, she has to have been in Ukraine on Feb 11, 2022. Was she?
