U.S visitor's visa for Canadian PR

Hi,

I am a Canadian PR, previously worked in the U.S on H1B & have an immigrant petition filed by U.S citizen parent. Is it possible for me to obtain a visitor's visa to visit my parents in the U.S? If my visitor's visa application gets rejected, will it affect my future re-entry into the U.S on a non-immigrant or immigrant visa?
Thanks.

Thanks.

If you have a US immigrant petition filed you will most likely not get a visitor visa to US.

Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate your time.

I appreciate your response. To answer the remaining parts of your question, the only way you can visit US is on an H1 visa or after your immigrant visa is granted.
Any non-immigrant visa denials should not affect your immigrant visa process.

Thanks again. Once I become a Canadian citizen, would I be able to visit U.S without a visa like other Canadian citizens, even though I have an U.S immigrant petition filed?

Probably not. Canadian citizens are allowed visa free travel to US only as visitors, not potential immigrants.

Thanks a lot for your reply. One of my friends who is also a Canadian PR had received a Notice of Refusal of Admission at the U.S border which says that he has been refused admission into the U.S under 212(a)(7)(B)(i)(II), could you please explain the code? will it affect his future re-entry into the U.S? Thanks in advance.

This section deals with someone who is not in posession of a valid visa. Canadian PRs now require visas to enter US (unless they have citizenship in a country that comes under visa waiver).

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I would really appreciate if you let me know if that will affect his future re-entry into the U.S, previously he had lived & worked in the U.S on H1B.
