typo in DS-156 form section 4

I need help with this. I made a typo while filling up the DS-156 form in section 4 which is the date of issuance of passport. This section is not editable after submission of the form from the vfs website.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation or have any ideas how to get this corrected? I have an appointment for Visa stamping in India in a week. Any advise will be appreciated.

send email to the consulate you are going for visa stamping explaining your problem. They respond pretty fast at least Mumbai Consulate does
