Can the pundits point all the types of rfes in the 485 cases ? I know the most popular one is the Employent Letter.

I am sure it will be very useful to a lot of us to anticipate the different scenarios.

Thanks

Some more RFEs

Based on Rupnet, here are some more common RFE's

Tax Returns : Last two years
W2: Last two years
Pay Stubs: Anywhere between 2 to six months
Birth Certificate: In case Affidavits have been submitted, non-Availability letter from the government authorities.
Medical: If medical is incomplete, completion
I-94: Latest I-94 copy
H1-B: All the previous H1-B copies

Please add to the list

Question for all

hi ..I know this has probably been asked several times earlier in this forum, but I have read conflicting answers:
For affidavit submission in the case of an RFE ,do we need to submit the originals or photocopies of the affidavits??

Thanks for any response

pattagreen, can you tell me what is the diff between the W2 Vs tax returns of last two years ? I mean should the two not be included into one context ?

Also, in medical RFE does it include cases where the vaccinations may be missing one like cp ?

Thanks

Response

W2 and Tax Returns could be considered in the same context, but INS sometimes asks for just the W2 or the tax returns or both.

For medical, what I meant was if say a pregnant woman could not take her shots, the medical would be incomplete. If the incomplete medical is submitted at the time of filing I-485, there is chance of an RFE.

re: Non-availablility certificate

I have submitted affidavits for BC but not the non-availability certificate. I do have BC but it has no name on it.

What choices do I have if INS requests the non-availablity certificate?

Do I send them the BC and new affidavits stating that the BC cannot be corrected (In India I think, It has to be done before the person is 18 )

Thanks

If INS is asking for W2's, H1 copies etc., it's because they wern't submitted with the I-485 petition. It's a lawyer's mistake. RFE is generally restricted to employer's letter or due to some discrepencies found in the birth affidavit or marriage certificate.

I got two very interesting (!) RFEs.
One - they asked me to prove that I was present on a particular day in US .
And the next one was about parentage information - ie, list all your parents and list their children.
