Types of EAD - can anyone explain the difference?

In the online status, I see more than one type of I-765. Can someone explain this?

for eg : I-765 Employment Authorization (C)(8)
I-765 Employment Authorization (C)(9)

I am not aware of the exact difference... I believe C(9) is Employment based....

But you can check the EAD applicaiton form instructions... It explains in detail the various codes..
