I am leaving tomorrow for Ireland and I have a couple of questions .
1. Do I need to fill out the form I-94 in the plane or I'ill get it in the airport?
2. Sould I take with me Asylum grant letter?

1. You better off to fill it(I94) on the plane, they have them before the Immigration check point too but why loose time, they going to send you for secondary check and only that sometimes is too long
2. My self I take a copy of the Asy Grant letter with me everytime I leave US.
3. Enjoy Ireland

Thanks Samoel for your reply. I am looking forward to meet my family after two years separation.

When I was asylee and came back from Canada, the immigration officer gave me this smirk look and said you have to provide anything tht was given to you from the INS. Therefore, bring everything you received from the INS - your RTD, decision letter, I-94, etc. Enjoy your trip and do not drink so much beer there; know it is nice

Actually, US immigration process is completed in Shannon airport in Ireland. You will notice that all flights to the States have to go through Shannon.
So... after you leave Dublin for example, the plane will land in Shannon and you will go through "American" immigration... board again... and just walk to the street when you land in the US port of entry.

Good luck and have a safe trip. Ireland is a beautiful country, especially this time of the year...

asyleeee,
Everything was as you described, but I passed through US immigration in Dublin. The officers were extremely nice to all other passangers who were mainly irish and UK nationals, but you guys had to see the immigration officer's face when he saw my irish-green RTD!!!!!! He asked me all sorts of questions about my travel, my work etc. He interrogated me for about 15 minutes then he asked me to follow him to get stamped. All people in the line were looking at me as I was a crminial. And then after waiting for a while I got my RTD with new I-94 stampled. Thats it. But nevertheless I really enjoed Ireland and I was really happy to see my family and friends.

Exact same happened to me in Toronto, I acutally missed my flight because they took my RTD away and called me into a room 30 minutes later. They asked me questions and was told that everything was being recorded. Good thing Air Canada was understanding and put me in the next flight. Suggestion to everyone traveling with an RTD from places where U.S Immigration is cleared abroad: Go way ahead of time, at least 3 hours and be ready for an "interview"
