Two Insights on being assigned to an Officer and AVM+FP

Hi Guys,

I\'m back. I thoroughly endorse getting away from this
board for a while if it\'s getting you too down.

Previously an IIO told me my case was assigned to
an officer. However, I see that the IIO\'s are saying
this to lots of people, even those who don\'t have their
FP notice as yet! So I no longer believe my case is close
to approval. :-(

This AVM stuff+FP is confusing. I believe that initially the
INS used the message : "FP were recevied ... pending review"
but now have changed this message to "FP ... processing of you
case has resumed".

Right? I didn\'t recall anyone having BOTH of the above messages.

Thanks Henrysh!

Here\'s hoping we get our approvals soon! I leave CA in
two weeks so it would be ideal to get the stamping done
before then.

You are correct Bongo. INS changed the AVM message. That is all.
By the way, would you be forwarding your mail if you change address out of CA? Does INS allow mail forwarding? Thx.

taking time out helps !!

You\'re right bongo,
I did feel like I was going to a depression
with this green card seemingly taking forever,
and the economy and the stock market in the
situation they are. But last weekend in Vegas
( without Internet Connection ) did help a lot.
I think that i did\'nt miss much here anyway. I
would be happy if I get approval in january next
year. BTW, my AVM got updated again on 11/28 saying
that the FP had been reviewed by INS and processing
has resumed. Preious update on 11/27 said that INS
had recieved FP and processing resumed, so I guess they
have updated the AVM system to reflect FP revieved and
FP OK\'ed, maybe due to a deluge of calls for FP status

Yeah, agree with viv12

I spent the weekend in South Bay (Silicon Valley) and I feel much better now. I went to see my beloved ones and worship my God in a temple. We have a lot of thankworthy things with us and just enjoy them. INS are human beings too.

One thing I don\'t agree with viv12 is: INS, according to its history record, won\'t improve their service so quickly just for "deluge of calls". Always they are slow on this. There must be some other reasons. The new FP system has been established from Oct 1 and, I guess, is still on its trial-run. They may make some changes from time to time to their discretion.

I\'ve been told that Post service doesn\'t forward all
INS mail, especially the Green cards themself.

In most cases it takes them months (if at all) to just
update your address in their system.

However, I have a lawyer and all copies of approval notices
will got to her.

it makes me depressed thinking about the current economy and gc process taking a long time. I am eagerly waiting for Santa to heed our prayers and give the magic gift......
