Got I -485 approved in 9/18/2000 from TSC ( NIW)
Stamped in Chicago the very next day.
Did not receive the card within 1 year and got help from a local senator. Found out that Chicago accidentally sent my I-89 form to NSC instead of TSC.
Restamped in Chicago in 9/2000 and specifically asked to send I -89 form to TSC and got card within a week. The effect date is 9/18/2000.
In March 2003 got second green card with the same A number but the effect date was 9/18/2002 (Exactly two years late).
I think that NSC gave me second card only based on the I-89 form that Chicago office accidentally sent to them (plus maybe the senator inquire).
My questions to you are:
1. If I apply the citizenship right now, are there any problems? What kinds of problem and how to correct?
2. If I travel back to India, do I get troubles at customer service in Chicago when I return from India? Any help will be appreciated.
