TSC: RFE for medicals after I submited them with I-485

Today, I received RFE's after BIO notice from TSC requesting Medicals and 325A form. When I submitted I-485 back in March 2002 I enclosed medicals as well.

Has this happened to others as well? What could be the reason? Did the USCIS loose the file and therefore asks for new medical reports?

Anyone willing to share the experience and offer any clue is much appreciated.

Thanks

Is it RFI(yelllow paper) or white paper(RFE)??...I think medicals also expire in 1 year so new ones are needed. They used to bypass that medicals expire since processing took so long but it was based on officers discretion.

dear juxhin

i have question to ask you,

which address will you send your medical to,

the address on the envelope or the address on the i797c form,

my wife got RFI today asking for medical and G325A

my wife case dates are:
ND : JAN 2002
FP : MAY 2004
RFI : SEP 26 2005
BIO : APPOINTMENT ON SEP 28 2005

John,

Like your wife, I received the RFIE today. If you will read the notice carefully, you will note that it states that the response should be sent "to the below address" in bold. That I would presume is where the response should be sent to.

You should use the address porvided on the bottom of the page, that is, the Texas Service Center.

Thanks to everybody for their comments!

Franz,

In my case the lady kept the original bio letter. However, she stamped a paper I filled out and and gave it back to me. I still have a copy of the original bio letter though. I think it should be ok either way. The main thing is that the BIO has been done.

Regarding the wait, I have only heard good things about cases processed at TSC. In most cases, cases were adjucated in 4-5 weeks of the case being transferred, but the ones I know of were 2001 cases. I do not know anyone with a 2002 case that has been approved at TSC. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Just hang in there buddy, we'll be approved before you know it!

Feb,

I noticed from your timeline that you responded to TSC RFIE on Sept 27th by just mailing your G-325A. I believe in their original request they need your Medical and Supplemental/vaccine as well. Did you just attach a statement in your response that you already submitted in your original I485 ?

I remember I once read from this forum that there is a link to INS/Attorney conference in which INS said we can ignore the medical examination request in RFIE or RFE if we already submitted them with our I485 and if these RFE are mass mailing... can you give me the site link ?

Thank you.

Want,

I just received my RFIE but it is a white paper.... does it matter ? In this INS letter it says if I already sumbitted my medical/supplemental before I can just attach a statement saying I already did that ( to me, that was 3 yr ago ).

GrassRoot,

That is exactly what I did. I just sent in an updated G-325A and mentioned in the covering letter that I had sent my medicals together with my I-485 application. Though I do not remember exactly when, I posted the links to the memos issued by CIS on the subject. These memos have basiclly been extending the validity of medicals (which usually expire after one year) every year since 2003 for cases that have been backlogged and are awaiting adjucation. You can look up my post and see them yourself.

Hope this helps.
