Hi Guys,

I thought i could share my GC status with the folks who are in the similar delema as well. May benefit from each others experience.

I have priority date as of Jan 2002 thru labor Substitution filed in Aug 2004 (A genuine substitution EB3 india). Got my 140 cleared long before. After that i had moved to a better option on AC-21 some time in Aug 2005. Since then i have been working on my third EAD etc. Company pays all immigration expense etc... never paid even for passport photo too. So i really did not fill like getting GC soon and never bothered too.

Then comes a point when i was suppose to be promoted based on my exceptional contributions to business but to my surprise, a big investment bank on wall street did which i had not imagine in my dreams.
And there comes importance of GC for portabilty reasons.:p

Recently i have contacted USCIS ( my case was transfered to TSC from VSC on Mar 2007 ) for my case status. i have got following reply back.

"USCIS Service Center records show tha"t your fingerprint results have
expired or a clearance has never been received. Fingerprints must be
taken at the Application Support Center (ASC) in your area. When an
appointment becomes available, you will be notified by mail when and where
to report. Please allow 4 months to receive your appointment for
fingerprinting."

Anybody in the same boat ? As i am already very close to end of the year , there is no point in moving right now. Am i going to get finger printing notice soon, or can i go to local USCIS office to request my finger printing notice ? I am trying to measure some certainity in life :)..Am i asking for too much from life ?

I would suggest taking an infopass appointment and requesting the IO to issue finger printing appointment notices. I have seen many cases where people where able obtain the appointment notices successfully during infopass.

Good luck!

InfoPass IO can not issue FP. Mine expired long back and service center is not issuing FP. by reading some of the thread's i was under the same impression that i can go and give my FP at local office. When i told the same thing to IO she said if Service center needs your FP again they will issue one other wise no need of FP.
I Think they only do it if you miss your scheduled FP issued by service centers.
try your luck at local office and let us know how it goes..............
