TSC New Processing Time

Does it mean anything to us ?

Hello Folks.

For EB3 cases, the Processing Dates, does it mean anything to us ? May be not..

BBQ

well

In view of the
- random processing by TSC;
- retrogression;
- namecheck delays;
- useless replies to case status inquiries

i think they are useless for EB3, EB2 and EB1

Agreed

slt,

You are right. These dates are for lucky filers only. They mean nothing for our cases.

The most of applicants whose applications submitted after later 2004 are likely the lucky filers. Their cases, especially EB2 are completed no more than one year or even less. The TSC is targeting the 6 months processing goal. Very good!

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve? A psychologist says he has discovered the answer.
Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck.

I wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune.

I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for my research and, over the years, I have interviewed them, monitored their lives and had them take part in experiments.

Professor Wiseman's top tips

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts and behaviour are responsible for much of their good and bad fortune.

Those who have succeeded at anything and don't mention luck are kidding themselves

Larry King
Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities.

I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside.
"I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it "

Professor Wiseman's formula came too late for some...
I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying: "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win £250."

This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high.

Anxiety

It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

Everything in life is luck
Donald Trump

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected.

As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else.

They go to parties intent on finding their perfect partner and so miss opportunities to make good friends.

They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and miss other types of jobs.

Self-fulfilling prophecies

Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for.

Luck is believing you're lucky Tennessee Williams

My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles.

They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Towards the end of the work, I wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck.

I asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think and behave like a lucky person.

Dramatic results

These exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck.

I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it

Thomas Jefferson
One month later, the volunteers returned and described what had happened. The results were dramatic: 80% of people were now happier, more satisfied with their lives and, perhaps most important of all, luckier.

The lucky people had become even luckier and the unlucky had become lucky.

Finally, I had found the elusive "luck factor" .

Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:

Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right

Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine

Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well

Visualise yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call. Luck is very often a self-fulfilling prophecy

True ..

POJ,

You are right. There are a lot of people in much worse situations and a delay in the GC process should not be taken as a seriously as I sometimes take it. This is just a very small part of the puzzle and I should not let it become anymore than that. Like I have said several times before, it is great to have you on this forum. You maintain the sanity and lighten up the mood for everyone.

Cheers,

saras

You're right

Yo POJ

your right ...we are far luckier than many , who do not have any anything .

Just hang in there , your day will finally come , i am waiting for the last 5 yrs , it has to happen sometime , enjoy your life , grab a chilled beer :)

Very nice post, POJ

It's a really nice post. It came at a very correct time for me. I have always considered myself to be a very lucky person. I'm a very ambitious person too. But lately, I've been attributing all my failures to my dependency on luck - to rephrase, I was thinking that I wasn't putting the required effort and purely relying on luck. Having concluded this, I made a decision that I should never depend on luck hence forth. How foolish am I. After that stupid decision of mine, my outlook has always been negative in general. I was at least happy before when I used to consider myself lucky. Somehow, I always used to think that even the worst situation will turn around somehow because I'm lucky and it has happened like that in the past. Uff...what a relief, now. I'll go back to my lucky days once and for all. Thanks a lot POJ.

That's a timely and a good publishing POJ! This morning me & my
wife were sitting in the USCIS lounge facing the entrance - just to
kill time and watch people getting scanned for their stuff.. Around 8:00am
we saw a guy (seemingly from some African country) walking in with a
hand bag and a huge check-in bag (that we normally use for international
travel); he placed both of them on the scanner tray and the cop - who
was handling the scanner - ran the bags many times through the scanner; he
also checked the bags completely in & out to make sure they are safe. Then
he gave a paper to that guy to fill in some info. While he was filling up
the info, me & my wife were making comments saying "What is wrong with
this guy? Does he need to bring all his luggage to get his visa or something
stamped so he can go to the airport from the USCIS office to travel to
his home country?".. Little we knew that, that was going to be true.

After 15-20 minutes, the guy finally got the paper work ready and asked
something to the cop; the cop pointed out a door & told him to drop the paper through a slit on the door. The guy promptly dropped the paper inside
and was waiting in one of the chairs. Then came two people from nowhere,
they took him through the room & me and my wife were surprised. How come
that guy gets special treatment. When we looked at the sign on the door
where the guy dropped the paper, it read "Deportation & Removal".

Yes, he was apparently turning himself to be deported to his home country.

I was feeling really sorry for the guy as I am sure - by looking at his
appearance - that his country WILL NOT have the opportunities
than what this country - even as an illegal alien - can have.

God bless us all!

The Art Of... 'Learning...'

A student went to his teacher and said ,
"I am devoted to studying your teachings. How long will it take me to become a like you?"

The teacher's reply was casual, "10 years."

Impatiently, the student answered, "But I want to learn it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice everyday, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?"

The teacher thought for a moment, "20 years."
