Hello

My RD on 485 paper is March 15/2001. Waiting on FP and EID/AP with RD of May15 on that. I was told that TSC is very slow in approving 485 these days. I had plans on transferring to my company\'s NY branch by the end of the year and asked my lawyer about the impact of that on my greencard. She suggested that barring the possibility of loosing papers during transit from TSC to VSC, it is actually favorable to pursue the transfer as vermont is very fast in processing this stage. Allthough she pointed out the danger of loosing paper on transit, i am thinking of going ahead and making my transfer and hence change the processing center..Can anyone advice me on this? Any similar experience? Please share it with me..
thanks

processing speed at service centers varies very much. I remember last year TSC was among the best and CSC was worst. But now things are different. So by the time u\'r paper reach VSC it might get slowed down.
So its u\'r call buddy. Life is strange ....

Also, according to INS rules, you can ONLY file your employment based I-485 with the service center approving your I-140. Some lawyers do not know that. However, if you request I-485 form directly from INS, you will see on the cover page the official rule. I am living and working in California now but I had to file with TSc according to this, although CSC is the fastest at this time.

I would transfer my files from TSC to VSC if I relocate to North East region for a new job. VSC has been consistent for years and has never been too slow. What is the chance of losing your files during transition? 2% or 5%? Moreover, what is the consequence if a file is lost? Has anyone have expeience or heard of stories about this? Thanks.
