Trying to get a status on N400

I have been trying to get the status of my case for some time now, without much luck. I filed in may 2002 with my wife, who has since got her citizenship. I have recieved a few notices of action, the last one being a cancellation of my pre arranged interview (which was due to take place in March 03). I have called the BCIS service line 3 times in as many months and got nowhere. just some clerk who was unable to answer anything. But told me that I would get some kind of response within a month (which I never did) Any suggestions.? My service center is Vermont/Newark NJ

Contact your Congressperson. They usually have a liason that deals with these sorts of things.
