TRU, where are you?

surya - reply

It is a hectic at work this week and will be so for the next two weeks so I have not been able to post as much. However I am browsing the site when I get time. I saw your postings, they are great ideas. I am sending mails to the congressperson/senator this week to see what response we will get on the collecting money and contributing to the party idea.

tru,
Your good efforts in this forum are commendable. I understand you take constructive steps to make TSC better. Accidentally I browsed a site "www.fairus.org" which is an anti-immigration website. From this website I understand that they also pressurise the law makers for anti - immigration policies. Particularly they are against tech migration because this very forum more members who were fired by tech companies due to out sourcing. The difference between 'fairus.org' to us is that they are citizens and their 'VOTES' count and we are not. I think thats why we don't get any voice or a favourable reply from any law makers.

When you get a chance, please browse this website. :(

Here is my analysis
By looking at this page
http://www.fairus.org/html/congrecord.htm
You can see that all of the restrictive bills were being proposed by Republicans and pro-immigration (or making immigration better) bills have been introduced by Democrats.

Your point on votes.
Yes we don’t have votes but if we join hands collectively we can bring the power of money and volunteering time into play.
Example: We have 1.1 million 485 backlogs say in theory each person contributes $100 we would get $100 million and give to the democrat party to make them win the election next year. $100 million is the amount that Republican party gathered for their election campaign in the 2000 election.

There will always be folks who will be against immigration but the plain fact is that without population expansion the economy cannot keep on expanding. Also the same rumblings must have happened when manufacturing jobs moved out of the US a few decades/years back.

My two cents
