Travelling with Plastic card through London airport needs transit visa?

Hi Guys,

We received our plastic card about one and half months back.
We shall be travelling to India during last week of Nov with a halt of 3 hours at London airport.
Do we need any transit visa for stopover at London?

Please tell me similar exp who have traveled recently through London?
Or any other information in this regard

NO.. You do not need London Transit Visa if you are PR of USA.

Is that true ven if one does not have the plastic card yet .. but is travelling with only the I-551 stamp on the PP?
 
Yes, You do

Yes, you need to have a transit visa if you just have I-551 stamped & no green card! However, no body seems to check for transit visa ever at these airports!! I am not sure why they ask you to get a transit visa
 
They stamp 24hour transit visa right in the airport if you show them a ticket. They do it even for H1B visa holders.
