Travelling with Green Card Stamp.

Hi everyone , 2 weeks back I got my Passport stamped and waiting for Actuall GC to arrive (I guess it will take around 6 months). Meanwhile I want to travel to India with stamp in my passport. Yesterday when I talked to Travel agent she said, my only option is to go in KLM since it goes from Netherlands, all other europen country's are requiring you to have actual GC in hand to travel, or else I have to take transit visa.

Is this true? Does anybody faced this problem. Please post if you have any knowledge of this new kind of rule.

Thanks
Rakesh

Yes it is true. I know for sure that UK, Germany and France does not waive the transit visa requirement if one has only the GC stamp on the passport and not the actual card. Ironically if someone has a valid H1B/H4/L1 etc stamped on the passport then they don't need a transit visa.

Having said that, getting a transit visa is only a couple of days affair and should cost you little.
