Travelling while on a TN

Hello,

I am about to apply for a TN visa in a few days, I was wondering if there are any restrictions on whether I can fly back to Canada to visit family and friends?

Do I need to ask for a "multiple visit" stamp?

What happens to the Departure slip of the I-94---do I have to surrender it even if I am travelling before the expiry date on the Departure slip?

Mine came with "multiple" stamped on it already and I didn't even ask for it. So I don't know if this is a default thing or something simply decided by the customs agent. I never used it, though to see what you have to do. I've stayed in this country since I got it and now that I'm going for the green card I can't leave at the moment.
