My lawyer is suggesting that I use my current working visa (H1B) rather than my AP to return to the United States when I'm going to Canada in August to attend a conference. I already have my I-140 approved and Im waiting for my I-485 approval. I have the following questions and I really appreciate your advice:
1) How long is it going to take for a US embassy to stamp (issue) my passport for another working visa? This is important as I will be in the conference just for 4 days and I cannot wait too long for getting a visa.
2) Do I need to wait for name check when getting a new working visa? I know for a student visa there is a 3-4 weeks waiting time. Is it also the case for working visas?
3) Anybody from this forum travelled with H1B when waiting for his/her greencard approval, please advise about the requirement for repplying for a new working visa.
