My Dad wants to visit us here in the USA, but has a severe worries that he will be handcuffed & sent back to the UK.......
He was arrested, but released as they had the wrong person, however he has been jailed for a period of time until he finally prooved his innocence.
Its awful as he had never had ANY dealing with police & the matter was something to do with the company accounts being wrong (he wasnt the accountant by the way!!)
Anyway, he has seen tons of programmes in the UK where people are treated like hardened criminals, when all they have is an unpaid parking fine! They have kept them in cells over night away from thier families & then sent them back to the UK....
My Dad is semi retired now & works for the local youth club, & looks after peoples pets while others go on vacation.
We looked into a visa, & had all files from the police requested, but he got scared & wont even apply now......
I am desperate for him to come & see our new life here & miss him terribly, but dont know what to do.
