Travelling to INDIA via Frankfurt through Air India. Do we need take transit visa?

Hello All,

We are going to INDIA next month via Frankfurt through Air India flight. Do we need to take transit visa?

I have my Advance Parol and waiting for I-485 (Nov 2003) and i my H1 visa stamp expired in september.

Air India customer service guys say that, As we are travelling in the same flight from L.A to Mumbai, there is no need of any transit visa.

So my question is, 1. Do we need to apply for Transit Visa?
2. What happens in Franfurt if we don't have Transit Visa?

Any experieces...
