Travelling to France Vancouver Expired H4 Valid I797

my questions is :
I'm on an H 4 visa in the US, my visa expired in Nov 2005. I have a valid I-797 with me, until 1st Nov 06. My husband just got his visa stamped in India this year, so he has a valid H1B on his passport until 1st Nov 06. We should receive our new I-797 (Nov06-07) in September 06.

Now we plan to visit Vancouver (may 06) & South of France (October 06) sometime this year.
1. can I get my visa stamped in France (marseilles) and how much time will it take?
2. can I get my visa stamped in Vancouver and how much time will it take?
3. I read about auto revalidation process would that apply to me?And how does it work?
could you please help me out with this one. thanks in advance, Im travelling with my two little daughter (US citizens) and husband.

No - The visa is normally granted in your country of citizenship or in country of permanent residence...

No. The AVR applies only if you travel within N. America - you will not be able to use it since you are going to travel out of N American continent..
