Travelling with foreign passport after oath

Can one travel on a foreign passport after oath, and in particular, if the country has a dual citizenship agreement?

But what if you don't have a US Passport, say for example you had your interview & oath today and you need to travel tommorow with the foreign passport, can you still travel with the foreign passport, but still identify yourself as a US citizen based on the dual citizenship status?

Is the foreign passport no longer valid once you've had your oath? There was a guy on this forumn who had a similar situation, he delayed the oath, even though it was offered to him on the same day due to earlier travel plans, http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=102258&page=3&highlight=atlanta however, I don't know if he had dual citizenship. I know of people in some countries where they are able to use both passport because of the dual citizenship status.

A friend needs to travel immediately after the interview and oath, and cannot wait for the 7-10 days for the passport, should she delay the oath part and just complete the interview, or will she be able to travel with her old passport and green card status or nat cert with old foreign passport. Will she need handover the green card after the oath??? what is the best option in this situation? Thanks :confused:

Hand over of GC after oath???

Soul_fh,
One has to surrender the GC before the oath ceremony starts!
So there is no way one can even think of entry into US with his ohter country passport and GC.

Ask your friend to make an appointment at one of the regional passport agency to get an expedited passport...

Yeah. I gree with Fitness99. Tell her how fortunate she is to get oath letter in timely fashion. she is one of the luckiest. tell her about some of us waiting for oath for years...lol if we had choice... we would take oath first, then apply for citizenship. :D delaying ur oath by ueself...Gosh that would be LAST thing i would do.
