Travelling on AP????

HI Gurus,

One of my friend is leaving for India tomorrow for some emergency reasons. Her 485 is pending for almost 2 year with NSC. She has an AP approved until 12/04/04.

My question is, will she have any problem if she plans to come back on 2nd or 3rd becuase the AP will expire on 4th dec?

Anybody had any good/bad experience travelling close to AP expiration date? Please share.

She is travelling on Northwest Airlines. I am not sure but the POE may be Detroit.

She may not want to travel that close (3rd december). If for some reason (weather/otherwise) the flight is delayed/cancelled she may not be able to enter.

I would say it is risky. If she had any delay in travel she risks not coming into the US at all in the future, unless there is a valid H1/L1/H4/L2.

Why don't she apply for an emergency AP and take it with her?

She is going to try for emergency AP on monday. I hope she gets it. There is a change in travel plan so that she can try to get emergency AP or postpone her visit to India.

It's about a month when she applied for AP.

i have used AP several times, once thru detroit. this poe cleared me fastest compared to others.

using AP by itself is ok however as someone mentioned flight delays etc are unpredictable and this is peak season so one has to be careful. these days they clear AP fast within a few weeks, better wait for new AP.
