Travelling on AP - Transit Visa required at Singapore?

My kid is travelling from Hyd-Singapore by AIR-INDIA, from Singapore-Los Angeles by Singapore airlines. Does we need to have Transit Visa at Singapore? Appreciate your experiences on this.

I came the same route on apr 13 to DFW. Transit visa is NOT required.

Thank you very much for your input. Did you travel on same air lines (AIR INDIA/Singapore Airlines), what is your destination at US (which airport is DFW?) - Thanks

From Hyd it was SilkAir to SingaPore. With Cathay Pacific from Singapore to Hongkong and from Hongkong to LA . LA to DFW Airport with AA.

You have to do customs and immigration at LA.
