Travelling on AP - Please help

My family is planning to go to india on AP. Their H4 is expired. I have changed a couple of employers and my sponsoring company is different from where I am working now. My question is

1. Will there be any problem for my family to come back with AP if their h4's are expired?
2. Since my green card sponsor company is different, will that effect my wife's entering back into USA? Will she be asked at POE about my job situation, green card sponsoring name etc?
3. What documents do they required to carry while travelling on AP apart from I-131 approval letter and I-485 receipt?

Please share your experiences gurus....

AP, copy of 485 is enough. They may ask one general question to your wife, your husband' s company is sponsoring your green card? say yes. that' all. They they will send the file to another room and they will take to that room. There it will take 10 minutes and stamp it on ap and i-94.
 
sbjami, i called a few travel agents. They said if i don't have visa i must have transit visa to go via Europe except some countries.
This really annoyed me. Iam travelling through LA.

Please check with your travel agent.

When you say transit visa, is it just applicable to people who are travelling on AP and do not have H4 or for everybody?

Please let me know.
 
Ask your travel agent about this. I called a few travel agents and they asked me if i have visa. I said i have AP. I don't know whether they understand AP. Then they said i need to have transit visa to travel via most countries in europe. Confirm from your travel agent what it is all about.
 
Transit visa is required if one is travelling using AP. Any H1/H4 valid visa holders stamped in passport does not require transit visa.
Again transit visa requirement is dependent on AirLines and Airport. So confirm with the airlines/embassy offices through which you are panning to travel.
 
AP satisfies the same requirements as a visa. I recently (Feb 04) traveled from India to Houston via Amsterdam on AP. Did not require any transit visa.
 
Transit visa required

I talked to my travel agent and also visited he british consulate web site. Transit visa for UK is required if you are travelling on AP and do not have any valid visa on your passport. This really sucks......................
For transit visa, visit www.britainusa.com and apply online and later send all original documents to the consulate.

Need transit visa for UK

Friend of mine had his passport stamped but did not received the GC yet. He was going through UK and was stopped boarding the plan as he did not have a transit visa.
I agree this really sucks.
 
No transit visa required via amsterdam

No transit visa required if travelling via amsterdam using AP and no valid visa on passport. I call the travel agency and checked the airlines.
