Travelling on Advance Parole

Can you guys share your experience on Advance Parole?
I got my PR in Canada few months back. I went to Canada 2 weeks ago for landing process. I was harassed at the US immigration while returning to US.
I am planning to go home next month. I would appreciate if some shares the experience.

BTW: What is PR? Even I am interested to know, as to what happens at the Point of entry using AP.

PR: Permanent Residency.
At the US immigration, initially they did not want to grant parole since I landed to Canada as PR. She said I cannot hold 2 PR from 2 different countries at the same time. I had hard time get her convinced that I did not have 2 PR. I have 1 PR and 1 PR in pending status.
