Only my EAD card is enough as an ID?

They told 3 week's for an ID but it's been
almost 5week's since i applied for one.

Section 264(e) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act does, in fact, require both nonimmigrant and immigrant aliens to "at all times" carry with them and have in their "personal possession" their reqistration documents. The most common forms of registration document are the Form I-94 Arrival-Departure Record, Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card, or Form I-688/Form I-766 Employment Authorization Card. Failure to comply can entail a fine up to $100, imprisonment for up to 30 days, or both.

Don't worry

Hello,
friend It is not necessary to carry every document, I have travelled recently from MI to CA, They ask you to show one of the id's such as Drivers License OR Passport (originals). don't worry too much....I think Your EAD works too

If a person does not drive, he/she can get non-driver's license at the local DMV. You will not be required to give any test and I believe they issue it on the same day. (NOt the card though) It is equivalent to driver's license (which is sufficient to travel within U.S) without driving privilege. You might want to try to get one.

Your EAD should be fine because it's a government-issued card. It has your picture and signature there...

I have traveled many times and I was never asked to produce any documents.
But my lawyer asked me to carry I-485 receipt too (along with passport and EAD) - just to be on the safer side.
