Travelling backhome (India) while getting close to H1 (6yr) expiry

My H1 (6 six yrs) is close to expire in 30 April 2001. I am from India
on H1. We (me and my wife) are planning to go home and come back during
next month. I am planning to go in End of August and come back during
end of Sept. My wife (H4) is planning to go in End of August and come
back during end of October. When we come back I will have 7 months on
my H1 and my wife will have 6 moths on her H4. Does travelling at
the end of H1 or H4 period will causes any problems to come back.

Somebody told me unless have atleast 6 months on my H1, it may cause
some obstacles while coming back. Is it true. Did anybody travelled
you know when they were close to H1 expiration.

Any advice/comments are appreciated.

Dear Kiran:

I am also planning to visit and I have six months leftover to expire
H1b limit. There should not be any problem at all and I know one person visited Mexico with 1 week H1b visa stamped leftover. Remember it\'s your right to come back U.S.A. with your valid VISA before expiration date. Immigration officer look at your expiration date; eventhough you enter 1 day before expiration. So be relaxed.
