All,

Me and my wife finished our FPs a couple of weeks ago. We will have to travel outside for a week or two sometime soon. Will that affect the N-400 processing in any way?

Is there anything I should be doing at this point in terms of notifying USCIS?

Any suggestions on this is much appreciated.

Thank You

Travel and have fun. You can update your N-400 at the interview. Just make sure that your mail is being checked, as some have reported that the NBC letter mail is not forwarded or received when mail is on hold.

No need to contact USCIS (unless you have a very unique travel circumstance).

Make sure you don't put your mail on hold when you do that or else your Interview Letter may bounce.

I'd basically see what your local DO processing time is and extrapolate that to your situation.

I am also going abroad after my fingerprints are taken. I expect a question during natz interview about it and I fully intend to disclose the trip(s). I am nowhere close the 30 month limit nor my trips are going to be longer than 2 weeks so I don't expect any trouble.

I had a 3 weeks vacation out of the US after my FP and my IL was not delivered due to mail on hold and I have to take INFOPASS appt for my duplicate interview letter at local office.

Enjoy your trip and do NOT hold ur mails. Disclose all the trips to IO at the interview.

This should not affect your N-400 at all. This is assuming you haven't travelled extensively and this additional number of days will cause you be ineligible.

I made two trips out of the US between FP and interview, one of three weeks, the other 5 months. Other than having to reschedule my interview because I was out of the country for my original interview date, the trips caused no problem.

There is no need to notify the USCIS of the trip in advance, however, you will need to disclose the trip at the interview so your N-400 can be updated.

If possible, it would be nice to have someone monitoring your mail to ensure you don't receive a last minute interview notice.
