Hi all,

I have my citizenship interview scheduled on May 12th and I have to go on a business trip on May 24th. here are my questions:

1 - Do they take away the GC once I pass the exam and interview, or i get to keep it until I have document to apply for US passport?
2 - if they do take away my GC, how do I travel before my oath date and applying my US passport?

THANKS SO MUCH!!

They take away GC only at the time of oath. You may or may not get same day oath. Once they take your GC, you get naturalization certificate. If you take that to a passport agency (not passport application acceptance facility) you can get passport in 1-3 days on showing proof of upcoming travel.

And I also have a question in line with the first asked here. Is there something like an expedite naturalization oath?

I meant like if there is no oath scheduled if there is a possibility of a special "fast lane" compared to waiting in line for a normal schedule. Like the way you could apply for an expedite passport or other documents.

Depends on what you mean by "expedite naturalization oath". Some locations offer the oath on the same day as the interview.
