Traveling within the US

I have an order of removal, but I am waiting to rid of property before I go. And I wish to see New York before I go. So question is, would I be able to fly with in the country using my passport without getting arrested and deported?

Chances are very good that you will not be stopped.

I've heard that I should be fine. Last time I flew within the country they only took a quick look at my id, made sure that was me and sent me on my way. I don't know how it is nowdays, if they type your name in on the computer in order to clear you or what. In the case they do, I'd be afraid the computer would state that I have an order of removal and would be taken into custody immediately.

Anyone?

I flew many times in the past year and had no problems what so ever. All they check is that the passport matches with the plane ticket and obviously that it is you...(on domestic flights)

If you have a US drivers license you won't have any problems. How ever they just changed the rules this year and they are not accepting out of country drivers licenses anymore. You can still get in with one but you will be subject to extra "screening"

Be careful

I have heard in an email from AILA that recently some airline clerks and TSA ID checkers are checking to see if people have unexpired visas/I-94s in their foreign issued passports. People without status have supposedly been detained. This is just in the last month. I'm not saying that someone will definitely check your status, but it is now a possibility.

thank you all. I decided to just go to the airport on a day off, and walk over to the departure, as if I am waiting for someone or dropping someone off and observing things. If I see that they just give it a quick look, then I will assume I will be fine.

Oh man, this is so tough. I feel like an animal at times. Scared something will happen to me ( on a day-to-day basis ) and I will either have to call the cops or be too scared to. But Unfortunately I've been living here since I was a little girl and don't know much else.
