Traveling With Out Plastic Card

I am planning to travel to Canada. I have the passport stamped but donot yet have the plastic. Would there be any issue at the border since I donot have the plastic card?? What kind of additional paper work I need to carry with me just in case there is an issue. Has anyone traveled to canada in similar situation?Will appreciate your feed back.

My family and I too travelled to Canada with only PP stamped, there was no problem entering Canada..
On the way back, a U.S official at the border asked us what our status was, we replied "Permanent Residents", he checked our passports and let us in..
We entered and left by Buffalo, NY (Rainbow bridge)
