Traveling while I-485 is pending

I was told by my attorney I had to take my I-485 receipt if I needed to travel abroad with a valid H1B visa, my question is:

1. How long does it take to receive the receipt after the I-485 is filed? I am planning to travel on 05/25 and my attorney is filing my I-485 on 04/14.
2. Am I safe to file on 04/14 or should I wait after I come back from my trip?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated,

if you have a valid h1b then it is immaterial when you file 485. you don't need to have the 485 receipt with you. you can either travel on Advance Parole or H1b. In your case you have an h1b so you are fine. Absolutely no issue. Go ahead and file and do not worry about the receipt notice.
