Traveling to India on AP

All,

My wife and I are traveling to India in May on AP. Could you all share your opinions on the following:

1. Are transit visas necessary? If so, how to obtain one.
2. Are there airlines that waive transit visas for travellers on AP?
3. What documents do we have to carry with us?
4. My wife will be coming back separately and is any additional documentation required for her?

Thank You

AP is treated exactly like a visa by other contries. If a particular country requires a transit visa for a person who holds a valid US visa then - yes.

2. Are there airlines that waive transit visas for travellers on AP?

Airlines don't control the transit visa requirement. If you are an Indian citizen on AP...you can choose to travel via Amsterdam on either KLM or Northwest and no visa required. I used that back in Feb with no transit visa.

3. What documents do we have to carry with us?

Both copies of your AP approval.

4. My wife will be coming back separately and is any additional documentation required for her?

Nope, just the AP document.
