Hi,

I have received only the I-551 stamp on passport ( No actual Card Received yet ).

But I have a trip to India now, thru, London - Kuwait - India.
( I will Not be going out from AIR port ).

Do I have to take a transit visa for London ?

Also, Do I need to take a transit visa for Kuwait ?

Anyone, with experience, please help me ?

Hi, I am sorry for not able to give precise info that you are asking; however, the best source of information for your questions would be talking to people from respective country consulates near by your location. You can get the consulate phone numbers from searching on the web (Ex:GOOGLE.COM). Wish you the best.

Regards.

I just came back from africa thru London with BA but was required to have transit visa and i do have I-155 stamped in my passport as well. For further information about visa please click on www.embassyworld.com ,you will be able to obtain visas information for any country in the world.

UK Transit Visa

Hi, I am also in the same situation as gcgc_y. I have I-551 stamp on passport but no actual Plastic GC. Not sure when it comes. According to UK visa web site a transit visa is required in this situation (http://www.britainusa.com/visas/other_show.asp?SarticleType=25&Other_ID=313).

I am going to India through UK (LHR 2 hour gap in transit) and at the time of travel (both ways) I have valid H1 stamped in Passport. Can I use that visa to avoid Transit visa? I have a feeling that the Stamping is useful when you enter in US (port of entry). Does any one faced same situation and used H1? Any comments???

Thanks in advance...

You need a transit visa for the UK.
The H-1 becomes automatically invalid once you get the I-551 stamp of temporary permanent residence.

Thanks for your reply

Thanks skyywalkr, I will apply for transit visa. Any idea how many days it may take to get it??

If you're in a city where there is a British Embassy/Consulate, it shouldn't take more than a few days. Otherwise, you'll had to add time for mailing your passport and application to the nearest embassy.
