Traveling on Old H1 Outside US

I came to US on H1 of Company A which is valid till May 2009. Now i got my H1 transferred to Company B and i have the H1 Approval for Company B. I am traveling outside US for a week , so would i be able to come back on the earlier H1 Stamp? Or do i have to go to Canada/Mexico/India to get the new H1 (Company B) stamped on my passport before entering US.

Appreciate any input regarding this .

You can use the earlier (and valid) H-1B stamp to re-enter even if you changed employer.
